I Will Remember

I will remember the ones who took the time and energy to stand up and defend Women, Muslims, Latinx, LGBT and African Americans from direct attack – not from attack from ill-thought out policy or shifty back room behavior of which every single politician is guilty because it is systemic, not from attack that is a child ignorance from all the hard facts that lay on the table, but from direct and explicit attack made right in front of their face. Seeing people who brush off the direct persecution of minorities made explicit by not just the leader but by his supporters, lets me know who will never have my back. Leaving Room for Grief

When we see tragedy it is natural to want to protect ourselves from the grief and anger by finding ways to pull away. The easiest is to rattle off a list of the crimes against humanity that happen in the world everyday. <blockquote>”If you think this is so bad, well look what happened yesterday to those people, and those people, and those people.”</blockquote> But I ask how does that help a person rise into a state of action? How does that help someone’s heart extend? From what place do we stand that can we tell someone where their compassion should lie? I have to admit. I think Serato Scratch has made me a better DJ. No it’s not just the instant doubles, looping and cue point functions.
